In this part, I will show how wording your posts right can show that you hold cards in your hand without the others realizing it. In which case, I will show a part of my post to show how it can work:

With that smile painted on his face, the man stood there. His eyes looking forward in this area. How long has he waited here? A minute? An hour? A day? He didn't keep track of it really. He just knew why he had to be here. The area was a nice warm spring day. A big training grounds. With targets and training dummies all looking warn out through use and age. It was a huge area with trees blowing in the wind. One tree closest to the training dummies was more ruffled than the others but only for a second. Where the puppet man looked to and laughed. Then turned away. The dark open hole in his chest showing as though nothing was inside

Reading the post right I didn't use my characters name for the "puppet man" which hides in that it wasn't me. Also showing again that there was a hole in my chest. Because I was a human puppet, having a hole in my chest means my heart is NOT in the body. And then mentioning that a tree moved more than the others is a small hint that I am in that tree. Do to puppet masters having to move slightly to have the puppets move. Which sets the fight just right for me.

You can use these methods to have a fight without you being there. Do to you being hidden away and whoever/whatever it is, (in my case a puppet that looked like me) To have it fight the person while you are safe. When they are distracted you can jump out of your hiding place and attack your opponent without then even realizing what was going on.

I actually find this pretty interesting, though would long range attacks work too in this case, like for example shooting a dart laced with poison from your tree at the opponent while they're engaged with the puppet?

Yes that would work. Be sure though to only do that at the right moment. Sneak attacks like that only work once. Don't blow your one chance to hit them with it
